A rebirth in the works

OK, I have a week off next week and intend, in between catching up on OU stuff, to re-invigorate this site. What this probably means is me deciding to use a new theme, fiddling around with it a lot and not being happy with anything and so reverting to this (at least no-one will get lost). But a site (non-)makeover isn't enough. I need to actually blog some too.

Site Stuff

I don't know how much people will care about this, but I've added some URL shortcuts to certain types of post. Queer, Digital Age, Geek, Life/blog and SciFi all have their own shortcuts now (in the form http://www.penwing.me.uk/queer etc (all lower case, no spaces).

Site Blather

Whilst I'm ranting...

I'm running OS X Leopard. I did have it running a cron job to keep my site up to date (feeds and that malarky). Now it aint doing so. I've tried a plist for Launchd and I've recreated my crontab but it just don't want to work.

And whilst we're at it, I can't get Drupal to parse plurk RSS feeds. I know they work because it's getting through to Google Reader, but Drupal aint liking it (I've got plurk and twitter - still trying to decide which I prefer...).

Holiday

OK, I am now officially on 11 days holiday. I celebrated the last day in work with two bastard cases during drop-in - w00t! I am, as previously mentioned, off work until 31st March, and what do I have lined up?

Well, today I have:

  • an appointment with the consultant
  • to try and arrange a haircut
  • to try and tidy my room
  • to finish off my second load of washing

It's the end of the working week

and I want my chippy tea!!

This week has been marked by a complete lack of motivation. So much so that I'm considering the chippy again. It's also been marked by severe cash shortage - Tuesday is payday don'tchaknow?

Those reading on the feeds, this continues at http://www.penwing.me.uk...

Bah

OK, I tried to update to Drupal 6 and fucked up the upgrade process when installing some modules. As a result, I decided to just start from scratch, so here I am, anew. I will bring this up to how I want it over the next few days, but I wanted to get an RSS feed for myself back available. So, tomorrow I'll be finding my favourite modules which don't work and fixing them. yay - debugging 8-)
