How not to attract my attention

So today I got the very late train. I just didn't want to actually get moving - I'm ready for my break I tells ya. This means I often meet with Eleanor at the station. No sign when I get there. So I'm there with my book open (Doris Lessing The Golden Notebook which incidentally is part of Border's current Buy One Get One Half Price and Give Us Lot's of Moolah promotion) and near the end. Suddenly Terry announces a new Janet and John story - John Goes Sailing. So I stop and stare blankly listening to the build up. Then cursing the train on the platform opposite turning up and drowning out the punch line.

Back to the book until my train turns up. Here it comes... get on, sit down. Keep reading book. Someone sits to my left. It's an Eleanor. Apparently she had been trying to attract my attention. Ooops. Far too totally engrossed in finishing the book and listening to Janet and John.

So I now have to chose my next book. The Banks I'm reading will go in my bag so I need a new shelf book. I think that'll be The Host from Stephanie Meyer.

Finishing my book meant that I could start on Interzone though. Which features a story called "Africa" which has illustrations by Paul Drummond. The main character looks damn cute in his drawings. There is a colour illustration available on his site but the black and white versions in Interzone are much nicer. Is it bad to be falling in lust with a drawing?
