Well, Sunday I went spinning in the end. Lovely evening. Couldn't find my sock poi though, and the tube poi I was using gave my fingers blisters 8-(. On the very plus side, I think I can manage an oscillating three-beat weave non-turning turn. We also discussed what we would do to replace Play. Looks like I'm going to Shell Island. Wahhay - it's something!
Monday was nothing unusual but I include it here for completeness.
Tuesday was training in the new Secure Integrated Web Based Case Management Solution we'll be using soon. Oh my, the problems. Exactly what I'd been experiencing. We thing we have found a solution (but maybe not the exact cause).
Tuesday evening though I got one of those fun conversations:
Dad: Hi Alex, what you doing tonight
Alex: Well, it's the pub quiz...
Dad: I have a free ticket to Kylie if you want it...
Now, I enjoy Kylie when I'm in the mood and shows I've seen televised look extraordinary. I couldn't really say no could I? So, 45 minutes after getting home from work I'm heading back into Manchester with a Kylie ticket and no idea of her latest album... The concert wasn't the best I've ever been to. It didn't seem as spectacular as other shows I've seen. It contained a lot of songs I didn't know. But it had Cocacobana complete with the dancers acting out the roles. I had to make a mad dash after what I hope was the last song (I Should Be So Lucky) in order to ensure I could catch the last train back (Curse you trains with your stupidly early last trains!).
Which meant this morning I did not want to wake up. Again. More training on the system - learning to train others in its use.
British Fantasy Society have sent out their latest mailing which includes "A Dick and Jane Primer for Adults". Some very good stuff in there. But Dick and Jane are "America's favourite children" (description from back cover). British Fantasy Society commissioned and collated this book. British Fantasy Society? America's favourite children? Janet and John are our equivalent (although I was taught on Peter and Jane instead).
Hopefully this will help make sense of some of my Tweets of recent days.
Alex
